Luqmaan Yunus officially became the very first Hifz graduate of Melbourne Hifz.
This marks a truly historic and blessed milestone — not only for Luqmaan and his family, but for our entire Melbourne Hifz community. His achievement is the fruit of unwavering dedication, countless hours of effort, and the steadfast support of his Ustadhs and family. By completing the memorisation of the entire Qur’an, Luqmaan stands as a shining example of what perseverance, sincerity, and reliance upon Allah ﷻ can accomplish.
We humbly make dua that Allah ﷻ preserves his memorisation, grants him deep understanding of the Qur’an, and blesses him to be a source of guidance and inspiration for others. May he live by the Qur’an in both word and action, and may Allah ﷻ make him among the leaders of this Ummah, Ameen.

Alhamdulillah, at just 10 years of age, Luqmaan Yunus was blessed with the remarkable honour of leading Taraweeh prayers alongside Sheikh Abdulrahman during Ramadan 2024 at Epping Memorial Hall. This was not only a moment of great pride for his family and teachers, but also a source of inspiration for the wider community. Leading the congregation at such a young age reflects his dedication, maturity, and deep connection with the Qur’an. May Allah ﷻ accept his efforts, preserve his Hifz, and allow him to continue serving the Qur’an with sincerity and excellence.

Alhamdulillah, in Ramadan 2025, Luqmaan Yunus was granted the remarkable honour of leading the Taraweeh prayers independently, surrounded by his family and friends, and successfully completing the Khatm of the Qur’an. May Allah ﷻ accept his efforts, preserve his Hifz, and enable him to continue serving the Qur’an with sincerity, humility, and excellence.

Melbourne Hifz is delighted to announce that Luqmaan Yunus officially became the very first Hifz graduate of Melbourne Hifz. His memorisation journey took him 2 years and 3 months with revision, marking a historic milestone for both his family and the Melbourne Hifz community.
2025 | September
Quraniat Academy Cairo, Egypt
Luqmaan undertook the study of Qirā’ah Hafs ʿin ʿAsim through online learning with teachers based in Cairo, Egypt. Following his progress, he travelled to Cairo where he was tested on his memorisation of the entire Qur’an by a distinguished Sheikh — a graduate of Al-Azhar University, renowned as an ʿĀlim and holder of a PhD in Islamic Studies.
After successfully reciting the Qur’an from memory in the Qirā’ah of Hafs ʿin ʿAsim, Luqmaan was granted his Ijāzah from this respected academy in Cairo, Egypt. This achievement represents not only the completion of a rigorous and internationally recognised certification, but also a continuation of the noble tradition of Qur’anic transmission, connecting him through an unbroken chain (Sanad) to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
